Vinay Rajkumar had two theatrical releases in 2024. One is Ondu Sarala Prema Katha, and the other one is Pepe. The film is a pure mass movie that has violent and raw elements. Debutant director Shreelesh P. Nair has directed Pepe. The film had a good pre-release buzz as the film’s teaser was loved by everyone. The film was released in theaters worldwide on August 30, 2024.
Despite having quite a good buzz among audiences, Pepe ended up as a failure at the box office. Though the film had a good story and some good moments, the viewers could not like it wholly as Shreelesh narrated it with nonlinear narration. It was said that the narration technique did not sync with the film’s genre. Pepe’s theatrical run lasted for only a few days.
According to the reports, Pepe is all set to make his streaming debut on Prime Video. The official confirmation about the film’s deal is not out, and it is also unclear whether it will be available in pay-per-view mode, but it is expected to arrive on OTT soon. The film shows Vinay in the title role, who is a descendant of the Raayappa family. Malabari people Raghavendra and Narayana are always at odds with Raayappa family, and they get involved in a lot of bloodshed. Mayur Patel, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Kaajal Kunder, Aruna Balraj, Sandhya Arekere, Medini Kelamane, Yash Shetty, Naveen D Padil, Bala Rajwadi, Shashidhar Bhat, Shivu Kabbanahalli, and Raviprasad Mandya appeared in the supporting roles.
