Viduthalai: Part-2, the upcoming sequel to Vetrimaaran’s action drama, has announced its release date. The Soori-Vijay Sethupathi starrer will be released in theaters worldwide on December 20, 2024, according to the official confirmation from the producers. Vijay Sethupahi took to his social media accounts to announce the release date, which was followed by the team.
Starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, Viduthalai: Part-1 was released and received appreciation from audiences and critics alike. Soori made his debut as a lead actor with this film, and everyone was surprised to see such an intense act from him. After Viduthalai, Soori went on to act as a hero in films like Garudan and Kottukkaali, which were released in theaters last week. So, the much-awaited sequel for Viduthalai will be released in December. Vijay Sethupathi was seen for only a few scenes in the first part, but his character will gain more weight in the second part. Talented performers like Manju Warrier, Kishore, Samuthirakani, and others will make their entries along with the cast from the first part, which includes Bhavani Sre, Chetan, Rajiv Menon, Gautham Menon, and others.
Viduthalai: Part 1 can be streamed on ZEE5. Vetrimaaran has taken the responsibility of writing and direction decisions for the film. Writer Jeyamohan also coworked with Vetri. Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment are the production houses behind the film. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, the film tells the story of a newly joined constable in the police force who learns the hard ways in the department and also gets the difficult task of nabbing a wanted criminal/separatist group’s leader. Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for Viduthalai.
