The comedy drama was released in theaters worldwide on October 11, 2024, and it had a box office clash with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra. The trailer for the film was received well, and it prompted the trade to expect big numbers from it. However, VVKWWV had just a decent box office performance on the first weekend.
The film collected 5 crore net on the first day and went on to gather 8 crore net at the box office, seeing a jump over 30% on Saturday, which marked the Dussehra festival. However, what surprised everyone was the film’s collections saw a drop and collected 6 crore net in India. For three days, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video collected 19 crore net and 22 crore gross at the domestic box office. Sunday’s collections being less than Saturday figures is hinting at the film having a drop on today, Monday.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilya, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video tells the story of a newlywed couple who lost a CD in which they recorded their private moments. Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, the film has Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat (marking her reentry into the films), Archana Puran Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, and Ashwini Kalsekar in supporting roles.
