Vettaiyan, the latest crime drama starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, was released in theaters yesterday, October 10. Upon its theatrical release, the film received decent reviews from audiences and critics. Though the early shows received somewhat mixed talk, the response turned much more positive as the day progressed, and the box office trackers say that the film had a decent day at the box office on its first day.
On its first day, Vettaiyan collected nearly 70 crore gross at the worldwide box office. As the film’s teaser and trailer hinted that it would not be like a full-fledged Rajini film, it did not have as much hype as his previous film, Jailer. However, the talk worked well for the film, as the evening and night shows registered a good jump across India. Now we will have to wait and see how this TJ Gnanavel directorial performs on the weekend.
