Vettaiyan completed a superb first weekend at the worldwide box office. The cop drama starring Rajinikanth was released in theaters on October 10, 2024, and it received majorly decent reviews. TJ Gnanavel, the director of much-acclaimed Jai Bhim, was the man behind Vettaiyan, and once again he chose a socially relevant subject to make a film.
For four days, Vettaiyan has collected nearly 190 crores at the worldwide box office. The Dussehra festival day, Saturday, was very useful for the film as it collected nearly day 1 range figures across India. Even on Sunday, the film gathered good numbers, but the real test starts for the film today as it enters the weekdays. Vettaiyan was liked by most Rajini fans, while a few of them felt that the film’s content and the characterization of their favorite hero were inferior to his character.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan deals with issues like fake encounters and the aftereffects of them, along with educational scams. Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, and Fahadh Faasil played the other crucial roles in the film, while Manju Warrior, Ritika Singh, Abhirami, Rao Ramesh, and others appeared in supporting roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film’s music.
