Vettaiayan’s first day advance bookings off to a good start

Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to enthrall his fans with his upcoming cop drama, Vettaiayan. The film will be released in theaters worldwide on October 10, 2024. The teaser and trailer of the film established the fact that despite having Rajini in an action avatar, it will be a different one for him as it promises an emotional drama regarding the encounters and how the police department views it. The director of the film is TJ Gnanavel, who made a well-acclaimed film like Jai Bhim (OTT release starring Suriya), so the expectations for Vettaiayan are not as high as the other films of Rajinikanth.

The first day bookings of Vettaiyan were opened a few days ago, and the film has gathered over 13 crore from pre-sales in India. 60% of those bookings come from Tamil Nadu, where the film’s craze is much higher, and the Bangalore bookings are also decent. The Telugu states bookings need to pick up the speed while the overseas bookings are good. The Vettaiyan overseas pre-sales figure is $1.75 million, and the total worldwide advance bookings of the film stand at 28 crore gross (estimated).

Looking at the trend, the trade experts say that Vettaiyan will not have a 100 crore gross opening at the worldwide box office and it is expected to be around or over 70 crore worldwide gross. As far as the film’s pre-release business is concerned, Vettaiyan needs to collect 350 crore gross at the worldwide box office to achieve the breakeven and to be called a hit at the box office.
