Urvi OTT Release Details

NammaFlix, the Kannada OTT platform, has consistently expanded its content collection by adding new weekly titles. Although these titles are not exclusive to the platform, they are offered at significantly lower prices. NammaFlix provides subscription packs starting from as low as Rs 14 for three days, Rs 29 for a week, Rs 49 for a half-monthly pack, and Rs 499 for a year.

Namma Flix will be showcasing the 2017 crime drama Urvi this week. Directed by Pradeep Varma, the movie features Sruthi Hariharan, Shraddha Srinath, Shwetha Pandit, along with Bhavani Prakash, Dr Jhanvi, Prabhu Mundkur, Madhukar Niyogi, and Achyuth Kumar in supporting roles. The central theme of Urvi revolves around human trafficking, as seen through the characters portrayed by Sruthi, Shraddha, and Shwetha. From June 21, Urvi will be available to stream on Namma Flix. Several new titles have been added to the NammaFlix library recently. These include Triple Riding, starring Ganesh, Aditi Prabhudeva, and Megha Shetty; Munduvareda Adhyaya, featuring Adityaa, Paddehuli starring Shreyas K Manju and Nishvika Naidu; Love (title not specified), Onty Bunty Love Story starring Prajay Jayram and Vrusha Patil, Electronic City featuring Aryan Harsha and Diya Ashlesha, and Melody Drama starring Sathya and Supreetha Sathyanarayan, among others.

Urmi, the Pradeep Varma’s directorial, delves into the dark world of the flesh trade and the plight of young girls who become ensnared in it. In contrast, Urvi showcases a unique narrative where the protagonists not only come to terms with their circumstances but also manage to break free, seeking vengeance against those who have wronged them. Upon its release, critics unanimously acknowledged Pradeep’s attempt to offer something unique in an industry saturated with formulaic commercial films. While some found the grim and realistic storytelling to be a drawback, the film was ultimately salvaged by the exceptional performances of Sruthi, Shraddha, and Shwetha, making it a must-watch for all.
