Ullozhukku and Golam: Two New Malayalam Films to be released soon in UK

After a wave of positive feedback from cinemas throughout Kerala, the latest Malayalam movies, Ullozhukku and Golam, are now eagerly anticipated for their UK debuts. Scheduled for July 5, both films will be screened in various UK theaters. The actors and production team have released the locations where these films will be showcased. It is expected that both movies will be met with the same enthusiasm as they did in Kerala.

Despite its limited initial theatrical release, Ullozhukku, a poignant family drama, received widespread acclaim from audiences. The film, which delves into the impact of lies on familial relationships, centers around a family in Kuttanad waiting for flood waters to recede so they can bury a loved one. As the family waits, long-held secrets and lies come to light, prompting a reevaluation of their relationships. Following its debut in Kerala on June 21, Ullozhukku garnered praise for the performances of Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu and Christo Tomy’s directorial style. The film later premiered in the UAE and GCC on June 27, further expanding its audience reach.

Director Samjad’s debut film, Golam, features Ranjith Sajeev, Siddique, and Dileesh Pothen in crucial roles. Ranjith Sajeev portrays a young police officer investigating a suspicious death in a business owner’s restroom. Despite initial reports of an accidental death by the police, the officer suspects foul play and delves deeper into the case. Among the various thrillers released this year for Malayalis, Golam distinguishes itself with its well-crafted narrative and unique approach to the genre. Despite some predictable moments, the film continues to captivate audiences and has garnered positive reviews, performing strongly at the Kerala box office.
