Tumbbad, the folk horror thriller, has put up an excellent performance at the box office upon its re-release. Day by day, the film has surpassed all expectations and completed its first at the box office on a strong note. No one expected the film to perform so well at the ticket windows.
On its first day, Tum bad gathered 1.65 Cr, followed by 2.65 Cr on Saturday and Sunday 3.04 Cr, Monday 1.69 Cr, Tuesday 1.66 Cr, Wednesday 1.42 Cr and on its seventh day, the film collected 1.3 crore net in India. For 7 days, the film raised 13.4 net at the domestic box office.
Tumbbad stars Sohum Shah in the lead role, and he is also one of the producers of the film. The film’s story was written by Narayan Dharap, and Rahi Anil Barve provided the screenplay along with directing it. Ajay-Atul composed the film’s music. Tumbbad was released in theaters on October 12, 2018. Though the film received exceptional reviews, it did not have a good result at the box office. However, after it was released on OTT, Tumbbad grew a cult fan base, which is reflected in the numbers upon its re-release in theatres.
