Tillu Square explores the range of issues the lead character encounters because of his past with Radhika and his new love interest Lilly. The main point of the film is how he manages to evade the dangers which he faces because of Lilly.
From the first shot to the last, Siddhu carried the film on his shoulders. The main attraction of the film lies in the energetic performance of Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who continues the energetic Tillu attitude and makes it lovable throughout. Anupama impresses as Lilly. Her uninhibited attitude in hot scenes works well. Muralidhar Goud provides good laughs as DJ Tillu’s father. Pranith Reddy, Murali Sharma and others were apt.
The film begins with Siddhu’s voiceover summarizing the highlights of DJ Tillu, the first part during the titles. After that, there are several back-to-back hot scenes and lip-locks, which appeal to the teenagers. But the film works because of the Tillu character’s fun. Although some scenes may seem forced or loud, such as those involving Prince Cecil, what is successful are the superbly written one-liners that always hit the mark. The quality one-liners are non-stop, and almost every scene has a dialogue that works. The ending scene where Tillu explains the difference between Radhika and Lilly gives a wholesome feel.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s energy in the lead role is the biggest plus point for the film. His interactions and reactions with different people in peculiar situations give amusing feel. The Chandramukhi song usage at the interval episode was hilarious. The final half an hour when all the threads come together worked well.
There are a few silly and loud scenes which do not work for the film. Also, there are some predictable moments and twists which can be easily guessable.
Last Line: Tillu Square — Siddhu’s one-man show
