The GOAT First Weekend Collections

Tamil Star Hero Vijay’s latest film, The GOAT, has completed its first weekend on a solid note. The film was released in theaters worldwide on September 5, 2024, amidst massive expectations as it was considered to be the second last movie of the hero. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film opened to mixed reviews but scored more than 100 crore gross on day 1 and collected 280 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its first weekend.

Interestingly, it is the consecutive second 100 crore opener for Vijay. Called Thalapathy by his fans, Vijay crossed the magical number with his previous film Leo and now The GOAT. Because of the divide talk, the film’s business was different from each territory. While the numbers from Tamil Nadu and overseas were great, the film’s performance was poor in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala. However, the film had decent numbers in North India and Karnataka.

For four days, The GOAT collected 105 crores gross in Tamil Nadu while it gathered 20 crores in Karnataka, 13 crores in Kerala, 9 crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), and 13 crores in North India. Overseas gross collection will be around 158 crores. So, the total worldwide gross for four days is 280 crores. The bookings for today are also decent for The GOAT in TN, and we will have to wait and see whether the fil continues to perform well in the coming days.
