Thalapathy Vijay’s latest action drama, The GOAT (The Greatest of All-Time), has completed its theatrical run at the box office. The film was released in theaters worldwide on September 5, 2024, and it received mixed reviews from audiences and reviewers. However, despite such a mixed response, the film emerged as a hit in most regions. The film has once again proved what an extravagant superstardom Vijay possesses among Tamil Cinema audiences.
From the beginning itself, The GOAT scored more numbers from its homeland, Tamil Nadu, and overseas. IT also achieved breakeven in Karnataka, while it ended up as a big failure in Telugu states. The surprising result for the film came in Kerala, which is considered a second home for Vijay, but The Goat failed to impress the Malayali audiences this time and ended up as a big failure.
The GOAT collected a whopping 220 crore gross from Tamil Nadu while it minted 157 crore from overseas. The Karnataka total is 28 crore, while the Telugu states and Kerala provided 13 and 12 crore, respectively. The rest of India’s number will be 22 crore, which takes the total gross collection of Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s The GOAT to 452 crore at the worldwide box office and ended up as a good hit at the box office. The breakeven number for the film was 400 crore gross.
