After delivering a good hit with the comedy thriller Crew at the box office, Kareeena Kapoor Khan came up with a murder mystery, The Buckingham Murders, this weekend. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film was expected to be a thrilling ride, as suggested by its posters and promos. Because of the genre, the trade experts expected a slow start for the film at the box office.
However, The Buckingham Murders received mostly mixed reviews, which translated into poor numbers on its first day. If the talk had been good, the film could have had better evening shows, but sadly, it could not happen. According to the trade reports, the murder mystery film could only gather 1.5 crores net in India on day 1. The film saw a mere occupancy of near to 10% on Friday, and it is expected to perform a bit better on the weekend.
Directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders’ story focuses on the story of a detective who has lost her son, but she is assigned the job of solving another young boy’s missing case. Despite her grief melting down her spirit, the detective is determined to solve the case, and what problems she faces during her investigation form the rest of the story.
