Kareena Kapoor’s crime thriller, The Buckingham Murders, is fighting at the box office to score good numbers. The film is the second consecutive film in the combination of Ekta Kapur and Kareena, after a super hit like Crew, which was released earlier this year. Though the film opened with low numbers, Hansal Mehta’s directorial is still grabbing some decent numbers at the box office.
According to the trade reports, The Buckingham Murders collected 1.5 crore net on its first day, followed by nearly 2 crore net on the second day and 2.2 crore on the third day. Overall, for 3 days, the film has collected 5.5 crore net in India. The footfalls have been better for the Hindi version than the original Hindi version. For the unknown, The Buckingham Murders was released in two versions: one is the regular Hindi version, and the other is the Hinglish version, where the presence of English dialogues is as high as 80% because of the film’s London backdrop.
The Buckingham Murders tells the story of Jasmeet Bhamra, known as Jass (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who loses her young son in a psychotic gun firing incident. Before she gets back to herself from the grief of losing her loved son, Jass is assigned the case of an Indian boy, Ishreet, who has gone missing. The rest of the story is about how Jass solves the case along with struggling with her inner tension.
