The latest super hit film from the Malayalam Film Industry, Thalavan, is all set to make its way to the digital space finally after a long wait. The investigative thriller, starring Asif Ali and Biju Menon in the lead roles, will come into the accessibility of the OTT viewers from September 12 on Sony LIV. Jis Joy has directed Thalavan which was released in theaters on May 24.
The movie was already declared to be accessible on Sony LIV after its theatrical release by the producers. Even before its theatrical release, Sony Liv acquired the digital rights to the Jis Joy-directed film. Film lovers are eagerly awaiting the film’s digital release. Thalavan was expected to be available on the platform after a six week theatrical run, as per the norms of Mollywood. But it was delayed more than the expected period, much to the dismay of audiences. Jis Joy’s another film, Innale Vare, starring Asif Ali, Nimisha Sajayan, and Antony Varghese Pepe, is also available to watch on Sony LIV. Recently, Mammootty-starrer Turbo and Nivin Pauly’s Malayalee From India began streaming on the same platform.
Thalavan movie focuses on the lives ofCI Jayashankar and SI Karthik, two police officers with different ranks. When a dead body is discovered in Jayashankar’s home, and they assume him to be a murderer, the narrative delves into unexpected situations. Karthik is assigned with the case, and he vows to find everything related to it. The main crux of the film lies in the twist that whether Jayashankar is a criminal or if he is a part of a conspiracy. Asif Ali and Biju Menon both received rave reviews for their performances. Recently, the makers of the investigative thriller revealed that they are also planning for a sequel.
