Tarot OTT Release Details

Tarot, the 2024 supernatural horror film, is scheduled to make its Netflix debut after being available for rental on Prime Video and ZEE5. The movie is set to be released on August 3, 2024. Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, both making their debut feature film directing, wrote and directed Tarot with Nicholas Adams as a co-writer. Adams’ 1992 novel Horrorscope served as the inspiration for the film. Jacob Batalon, Olwen Fouéré, Larsen Thompson, Avantika, Wolfgang Novogratz, Humberly González, Adain Bradley, and Harriet Slater are part of the film’s main cast.

Within the movie, a unique Tarot card is utilized, leading to the gruesome deaths of several college students; the only chance of preventing further tragedy is to decipher the meaning of the deck before it’s too late. A crucial rule of Tarot reading is broken. As a result of their carelessness, a group of friends unknowingly unleashes a terrifying evil by using a deck that doesn’t belong to them. As they face their destinies individually, they are forced into a frantic race against time to evade the catastrophic outcomes foretold in their readings. Tarot has grossed $48 million worldwide despite receiving mostly negative reviews from critics. The conclusion of the Tarot introduces The Astrologer and the apparent permanent destruction of the deck of cards. While there is no confirmation of a sequel being developed, the film does establish a significant amount of backstory, primarily through exposition. There is a possibility that Tarot could explore a prequel focusing on the origins or previous utilization of the deck, potentially crafting an intriguing historical narrative reminiscent of the 1960s Woodstock music festival.

The unresolved matters involving the Tarot and its characters create the possibility for a sequel, regardless of its connection to the Tarot deck mentioned. Haley, Grant, and Paxton survived the movie’s events, which could enable them to confront a different iteration of the deck armed with the insights they acquired from their earlier experience. Despite the potential profitability of Tarot despite its modest budget, the negative reception from critics makes a sequel unlikely.
