Tamil Actor Dhanush’s forthcoming movie Raayan is scheduled to hit theaters this June. Shankar’s directorial Indian 2 has reportedly been delayed, allowing Raayan to secure June 13th for the Bakrid Weekend release. Another Actor, Vikram’s film, Thangalaan, was initially eyeing the same date and is now gearing up for a box office showdown with Raayan.
Dhanush not only acts in the lead role but also directs Raayan. Sandeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram are also part of the film. The first look of Raayan has already been unveiled, and the announcement of the lyrical song for the movie was made recently. On the other hand, Pa. Ranjith, renowned for directing Madras, Kabali, and Kaala, is helming Thangalaan, which stars Vikram and Malavika Mohanan. This film is also being made on a significant budget and is set to have a wide release across India. The film’s teaser was released a few months ago and received an overwhelming response. Thangalaan was supposed to be released on January 26th but did not make it to the theaters on that date.
Now it is almost certain that both films will be released in June, resulting in a clash at the box office. Dhanush, aiming for a blockbuster after his moderately successful film Captain Miller, is eagerly anticipating the outcome. Despite being promoted as a major release across India, Captain Miller only achieved moderate success. Additionally, Dhanush has recently announced his upcoming project, Kubera, which is directed by Sekhar Kammula. Similarly, Vikram is also in need of a major hit. Therefore, the clash between Vikram and Dhanush will undoubtedly be intriguing.
