Story:
Sundaram is a government teacher sent to a village called Miryalametta on a mission to teach them the English language. Upon arriving in the village, Sundaram is shocked to learn that the villagers speak English. The rest of the story is about how Sundaram can get his mission done and what experiences he goes through during his stay at the village.
Performances:
Harsha Chemudu got a lead role for the first time and he did a pretty good job as Sundaram. Divya Sripada waa good while Balakrishna Neelakantapurar and other actors who appeared as villagers were perfect.
Analysis:
The film’s first half goes on a light-hearted note and establishes the plot neatly. The interval episode raises the anticipation levels. The film’s second half turns a bit serious as the director tries to show the change in Sundaram’s behavior and his emotional interaction with the villagers. While the first half is decent, with a few comedy parts working well, the second half goes nowhere as the proceedings lack intrigue.
Positives:
The initial setup gives an exciting feel, making the audience wait for further proceedings. Sundaram being shocked when villagers talk in English, and the subsequent episodes come out well. The interval episode of the village deity idol was also exciting. Sri Charan Pakala’s music was also nice.
Negatives:
After a point, the narrative gets stuck, and Sundaram Master gives hints of going nowhere. The innocence of villagers and Sundaram getting stunned by them gets repetitive. The pre-climax part looks better, but it could have been more effective. The Climax does not have much effect as the transformation of Sundaram did not have a proper elevation. The audience will come out with an incomplete feeling because of the stale narration.
Thumb/Last Line: Sundaram master gives a boring lecture
