Chanderi is now free from the threat of Stree — a terrifying female spirit that kills lone men at night. The ladies’ tailor Vicky who saved his village from Stree is happily living, but he yearns for his girlfriend, a girl-with-no-name, played by Shraddha Kapoor, who left town with Stree’s hair at the conclusion of the first part. However, Vicky and Chanderi face a new terror in the form of Sarkata, a headless Demon. Vicky, with the help of his lover, along with Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana), Jana, (Abhishek Benerjee) and Rudra Bhatia (Pankaj Tripathi), try to end Sarkata.
Performances:
Rajkummar Rao was fantastic as ever, and adds the charm to his character. Shraddha Kapoor also makes a good impression as a woman with a mysterious backdrop. Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Benerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi perform very accurately.
Analysis:
Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, boosts the same impact of the original, released in 2018. Keeping things simple and careful writing in many parts works efficiently for the film. While the first half has a more racy touch, the second half includes a few dull parts.
Positives:
Almost all the scenes between Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti, Abhishek and Pankaj came positive. The funny banters between them kept the humor flowing continuously. The pop culture references to Bollywood were also good. We can term the Pre Interval and Climax Episodes as the major plus points of the film.
Negatives:
The backstory of Stree and Sarkata could have been explained in more detail. Also, including other characters from Maddock Universe could have been set more organically. The scenes around Pre Climax were a bit dragged.
