Stree 2, the latest horror comedy blockbuster, is all set to create history at the Bollywood box office by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the net collection of 600 crore at the Indian box office. The film will achieve this feat by now, as we write this article, which no one would have expected from it. The film was released in theaters on August 15, 2024, and since then, it has created many records at the box office.
On Friday, September 20, Stree 2 received a good boost in its numbers because of the National Cinema Day, where the national multiplexes provide the viewers an option of watching the movie for Rs 99. Because of the extra push on Friday, where it had gathered 5 crore net, Stree 2 was expected to have dropped, but it did not have any considerable drop and gathered nearly 4 crore net, taking the total to 599 crore at the domestic box office.
Before Stree 2, no Hindi film had touched the coveted 600 crore mark, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan came close to collecting 584 crore net in its lifetime. However, the Amar Kaushik directorial benefited from having no competition since its release and did the unthinkable. Now it will be interesting to see which big star’s film will cross the full run of Stree 2.
