Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 is having a spectacular run at the box office. Even after completing three solid weeks at the theaters, the film is still showing decent hold and gathering impressive numbers. The footfalls and hourly ticket sales are still intact for the film, and the horror comedy is all set for a good weekend at the ticket windows.
On its 22nd day, Stree 2 gathered 5.4 net in India, and the overall collections for 22 days are 526.4 crores net at the domestic box office. This means the film has collected nearly 80 crore net in the third week, which is nothing but astonishing. Also, Stree 2 has crossed another milestone at the Indian box office as it went past the films of Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol. Stree 2 is now the second highest grosser for Bollywood after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. SRK’s other film, Pathaan, collected 523 crores net in India, while Gadar 2 amassed over 525 crores. Stree 2 has crossed both these biggies with yesterday’s collections, and trade experts are curiously waiting to see how many more records will be broken by this horror comedy.
Made as a sequel to Stree, released in 2018, Amar Kaushik has directed Stree 2. Besides Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, it also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparkshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee. The sequel also had some exciting cameos by Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia. The story of Stree 2 shows the terror of Sarkata, a headless demon who kidnaps progressive and liberal women from the village of Chanderi.
