Stree 2 becomes the fifth movie in Bollywood to cross the 500 crore mark. The horror comedy was released in theaters on August 15th, and it is having an extraordinary run at the theaters. Stree 2 started its theatrical run with a record-breaking number of 65 crore net, which also includes the paid premieres it had before the release day. The film is nearing its third weekend, and still it is gathering impressive collections at the box office.

On September 1, its third Sunday, Stree 2 had received phenomenal footfalls at the theaters. According to the trade experts, the film gathered over 22 crores yesterday. So, for 18 days, Stree has collected 502.5 crores net at the domestic box office. Stree is the fifth film from Bollywood to cross the 500 crore mark in India. Before this, Baahubali 2, Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan had crossed this milestone. With no movies getting released in the near future, Stree 2 is poised to cross Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (570 Cr) in its full run. However, it is certain that the film will see a considerable dip in the numbers, and it will collect below-double-digit numbers from today.

Stree 2 is set in Chanderi and focuses on the unexpected danger that the people face because of Sarkata, a headless ghoul who kidnaps progressive women. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor appear in lead roles in the film, while Abhishek Bannerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi played supporting roles. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 also had Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhaita in cameos.
