Stree 2 is still getting respectable numbers at the box office. The horror comedy, which hit the screens this August, was opened to excellent openings at the box office. The makers arranged paid premieres on the night of August 14th, which helped the film to get the required positive talk, and from then on, the film did not look back and went on creating as many records at the box office.
The film recently created a record by becoming the all-time biggest blockbuster of Bollywood by crossing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, and it did not stop there; it even became the first ever Hindi film to cross the 600 crore net mark and created history at the Bollywood box office. Even after a near-near six-week run in theaters and achieving unimaginable numbers, Stree 2 is still continuing to get good numbers on weekdays. On Tuesday, the horror comedy gathered 1.3 crore net in India, which takes its total to 607 crore at the domestic box office.
Stree 2 also benefited from the failure of films like Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, which were released in theaters alongside the horror comedy on this Independence Day. As both the films failed to attract audiences, the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer attracted almost everyone to watch it. The Amar Kaushik directorial is expected to have some decent numbers before it ends the theatrical run.
