In a recent interview with Film Companion, Hrithik Roshan shared his perspective on the burdens of being a star, referring to it as both a gift and a responsibility. Contrasting this sentiment, Shahid Kapoor, while promoting his upcoming film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” expressed having the ‘opposite problem.’
Shahid revealed, “I do not want to lose the actor in me, so sometimes I sacrifice the stardom. I am on the other side of the fence.” Drawing inspiration from legends like Leonardo Di Caprio, Amitabh Bachchan, and Dilip Kumar, Shahid aspires to balance stardom with substantial acting roles.
Hrithik, acknowledging the pressures of stardom, emphasized its impact on decision-making in his film choices. He stated, “There have been many times when I’ve been unable to do a film because I have to uphold the star factor. It’s one of the most distracting things for me as an actor.”
While Hrithik views stardom as a double-edged sword, Shahid embraces the challenge of maintaining a harmonious blend of star power and acting prowess. The duo’s contrasting perspectives shed light on the nuanced experiences of Bollywood actors navigating the complexities of fame.
As the debate continues on the fine line between being a star and an actor, it remains evident that each artist grapples with their unique journey in the ever-evolving landscape of Indian cinema.
