Actor Soori, eagerly anticipating the premiere of his movie Garudan, recently shared insights on the sequel to the upcoming film Viduthalai. Helmed by Vetrimaaran, the two-part series stars Soori as the protagonist, portraying a novice police officer. Soori expressed that Viduthalai – Part 2 will boast a more elaborate and expansive scale than its predecessor.
Viduthalai was the movie that marked Soori’s debut as a lead actor. During a recent interview at the Garudan Promotions, Soori mentioned that he is anticipating the release of the second part sometime in August or September. He also stated that the movie’s filming is still ongoing. Soori expressed, “The film has grown in scale by including many artists such as Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, and Kishore. From what I understand, Viduthalai 2 will be three times larger and more magnificent than Viduthalai.” In the first installment, Soori portrayed the character of Kumaresan, a newly-appointed police officer assigned to capture a revolutionary leader portrayed by Vijay Sethupathi. While the initial film had limited screen time for Vijay Sethupathi, the sequel is expected to showcase more of his character. The movie will include Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chetan, and other talented actors.
Vetrimaaran, the filmmaker, helms Viduthalai, while the release date for its second part remains undisclosed. The movie features music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Presently, the first part can be streamed on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Upon its release, Viduthalai – Part 1 garnered favorable reviews from critics. Earlier this year, both parts were showcased at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, where they received a standing ovation.
