Shivarajkumar, the renowned actor of the Kannada Film Industry, is known for his remarkable consistency in delivering at least two films annually in theaters. The star is engrossed in releasing his latest film, Karnataka Damanaka, while simultaneously preparing to support his wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, in her upcoming Lok Sabha Elections campaign. Despite this shift in priorities, his film schedules will remain unaffected. Recently, the star announced the release date of his much-awaited prequel Mufti-2 title as Bhairathi Ranagal.
Shivanna, affectionately referred to as the actor, has recently filmed the climax of Bhairathi Ranagal. Although the team has not officially confirmed the completion of principal photography, they have assured audiences that the film will be released in theatres later this year. Today, it was announced that Bhairathi Ranagal is scheduled to premiere on August 15, 2024. Directed by Narthan, the film serves as both a prequel and sequel, centering on Shivanna’s character from the 2017 movie Mufti, where Sriimurali also played a significant role. Bhairathi Ranagal is a criminal targeted by law enforcement, prompting an officer to go undercover to penetrate his criminal organization. Sriimurali portrays the policeman assigned to collect information on Bhairathi Ranagal. The officer discovers that villagers consider him a hero despite Ranagal’s criminal activities. Ranagal eventually surrenders and receives a prison term revealing that he was aware of the undercover officer’s true identity from the beginning.
The 2024 film Bhairathi Ranagal digs into the circumstances that led him to being a gangster, feared by some and adored by others, and what happens to him after he’s taken to prison. Shivarajkumar is paired with Sapta Sagaradaache Ello-fame Rukmini Vasanth in the film. The film has been produced by the actor’s home banner, Geetha Pictures. In a previous interview with the press, Shivarajkumar mentioned his intention to re-release Mufti in cinemas as a way to refresh audiences before the release of Bhairathi Ranagal. The clash between the Independence Day release of Bhairathi Ranagal and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule, along with other major films, is anticipated.
