Story:

Chandu (Ashwin Babu), who serves as a loan recovery agent, falls in love with Sailaja (Digangana Suryavanshi). A sudden event leads to Chandu losing his eyesight. Post-operation, he recovers his sight, but nothing seems quite right as he gets to experience some unexpected situations. He believes there is something amiss regarding a series of crimes in the city. What actually happened to Chandu? What factors contribute to the motivations for the murders? Who is responsible for the killings? How is the narrative associated with China and Pakistan? The rest of the movie will reveal the answers.

Performances:

Ashwin gives a believable performance overall. Digangana Suryavanshi delivers a satisfactory performance in her role. As a police officer, Arbaaz Khan does a good job, and Hyper Aadhi adds some laughs thanks to his fine comedic timing. Murali Sharma and Tanikella Bharani deliver appropriate performances in their characters.

Analysis:

Taking on dual roles as writer and director, Apsar aimed to integrate crime thriller tropes with notions of the divine. Although his intentions were clear, he struggled to create a better engaging script and maintain suspense in the narration. While certain sequences in the film captivate the audience, improved execution could have made it far more engaging.

Positives:

Ashwin Babu’s performance is the main plus point for the film. He was convincing in the post surgery parts where he experiences unexpected events. The interval twist comes out well and creates anticipation for the latter portions. The initial parts of the second half are likewise interesting.

Negatives:

The absence of captivating scenes and a unified screenplay affected the film and led to a less than fulfilling experience. Also, opting for comedy scenes in the most serious episodes further impacts the film terribly. For example, the role of Brahmaji irritates a lot as his character tries to make fun in crucial places. Be it the inner linking of Divine angle or the track of China and Pakistan’s conspiracy against India did not come out effectively.
