Shakhahaari OTT Release Details

Director Sandeep Sunkad recently discussed the Kannada thriller Shakhahaari in an interview with a media platform. Despite receiving favorable reviews and positive word-of-mouth from audiences, the film did not achieve financial success during its 50-day theatrical run at select centers. Shakhahaari was one of approximately 10 Kannada movies released on February 16 and is now preparing for its debut on OTT platforms.

Rajesh Keelambi, the producer of Shakhahaari, announced to the press that he has secured an agreement with Amazon Prime Video for the film’s streaming rights. While the specifics of the deal and the streaming date are still being ironed out, he anticipates that the film will be ready for streaming shortly. The movie and several others will be offered under a pay-per-view model. Shakhahaari is a gripping thriller featuring Rangayana Raghu in the lead role as Subbanna Bhat, a humble hotelier who runs a modest establishment catering to a group of regular customers with quick bites and tea. Subbanna follows a fixed routine in his daily life, but everything changes when he finds himself sheltering an injured fugitive in his hotel, which also serves as his living quarters. Gopalkrishna Deshpande portrays SI Mallikarjun, who is relentlessly pursuing the fugitive. The story revolves around the unexpected encounter between Mallikarjun and Subbanna, forming the core of Shakhahaari. Rangayana Raghu, the talented actor, expressed that portraying Subbanna was a challenging yet artistically fulfilling experience. In a promotional interview conducted by director Sandeep, Rangayana Raghu revealed that he was captivated by the uniqueness of the character and the film itself, as it left a lasting impression on him from the first narration.

Shakhahaari includes Sujay Shastry, Nidhi Hegde, Vinay UJ, Harini Sreekanth, Shreeharsha Gobhatt, and Pratima Nayak. As viewers anticipate the release of Shakhahaari on OTT platforms, fans can also explore other films by Rangayana Raghu through OTTplay Premium’s Simply South pack.
