Sarfira 3 Days Collections

The film Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, had a sluggish beginning at the box office with a collection of 2.50 crore. However, it experienced a surge of over 70% in earnings on Saturday and continued to maintain its solid performance on Sunday. Despite this, the film’s overall performance is still not deemed exceptional, especially considering its budget of around Rs 100 crore.

According to initial reports on the projected box office earnings of Sarfira by trade circles, the movie experienced a 20% surge in Sunday’s earnings. The film raked in approximately 6 crore, bringing the total to 13 crore net in India. The movie had a 9.47% occupancy rate for morning shows on its third day, but attendance increased in the afternoon. In Hindi, the film has an overall occupancy rate of 26.46%. Sarfira marks Akshay Kumar’s 150th film for those who may not be familiar. This Hindi film is a remake of the National Award-winning Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru, which initially starred Suriya. Though Sarfira received a thumbs up from the critics, the general public did not seem interested in watching the film in theaters as they had already watched the Hindi Version of Suriya’s version in OTT.

Sudha Kongara has directed Sarfira and draws inspiration from the life of Air Deccan Founder Captain G R Gopinath. Akshay portrays the role of Vir Mhatre in the movie. The cast also includes Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas in significant roles. Sudha mentioned in an interview that Akshay was captivated by the story and the character of Vir Jagannath Mhatre when she approached him. She stated that he brought in fresh ideas and suggestions to enhance his character and make Sarfira distinct from the original, catering more to the Hindi audience, thus enriching the film.
