Sanjay Dutt: From Adheera’s Impact to Big Bull’s Letdown

In the trend of roping in Bollywood stalwarts for antagonist and pivotal roles in South Indian films, Sanjay Dutt was the first actor to set this trend with his pan-India project KGF Chapter 2, starring Yash and directed by Prashanth Neel. Dutt was cast as the antagonist Adheera, and his aura brought a fresh vibe to the film.

Sanjay Dutt was admired for his villainous look and how he proved himself as an actor in KGF Chapter 2. However, his subsequent roles did not make the same impact, suggesting that it’s not just about the actor’s presence but also the role assigned to them.

Following the success of KGF Chapter 2, Sanjay Dutt appeared in South films like Vijay’s Leo and Ram’s Double iSmart. Despite his efforts, neither film left a significant mark on his career. In Leo, although the film achieved decent success at the box office, Dutt’s role as Antony Das did not resonate as strongly as his previous portrayal. In Double iSmart, despite playing an underworld mafia role, the film’s story overshadowed and diminished his contributions.

Now, as Sanjay Dutt juggles multiple projects, he is set to feature in a pivotal role in the South film KD – The Devil, starring Dhruv Sarja, where he will be seen as Dhak Dev Agnihotri. Will this role help him make a comeback? Only time will tell.
