Revanth is looking for healthy relations with AP

Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy said that he was looking forward to a healthy relation with the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. He said that the Telangana state was seeking cooperation and support of other states for its development.

Revanth Reddy posted in social media thanking AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy who greeted him on assuming charge. Revanth Reddy took the oath as the second chief minister of Telangana state on Thursday in L B Stadium.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy posted his greetings to the new chief minister in social media. Replaying to the post, Revanth Reddy said that his state is looking for better relations with Andhra Pradesh and other states.

The two states are to settle several issues including inter-state water distribution, maintenance of Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar reservoirs and distribution of assets between the two Telugu states. The institutions listed in the Schedule IX and X of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 are to be settled. The bank accounts and other issues are to be settled between the two states.

Former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and AP chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy held a joint meeting once. They talked about the issues to be settled between the two states. However, there was no move forward on this after the meeting.

The Union government held four meetings with the chief secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to sort out the issues. Every time, there was some problem in resolving the issues. The two states could not solve the problems, settle the issues listed in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

It is to be seen what the chief ministers would do in the days to come as the state’s bifurcation is scheduled to complete ten years by June 2, 2024. There are just six months for the two states to resolve the issues and settle down to the regular work.

Hyderabad would be ceased to be the common capital of the two states by June 2, 2024, and the two states have to resolve the issues by then.
