Ramoji transferred our shares to Sailaja Kiran

Cherukuri Ramoji Rao of Margadarsi and Eenadu group has threatened me with a gun in hand and took my signatures on blank papers, said Gadireddi Yuri Reddy, son of late Gadireddi Jagannadha Reddy, most popularly known as G J Reddy.

Speaking to media persons in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Yuri Reddi, who lives in Czechoslovakia said that he had tried to meet Ramoji Rao in 2015 but could not meet. After the involvement of some elders, he could meet Ramoji Rao in 2016.

When he asked Ramoji Rao about his father’s shares in the Margadarsi chit fund company, Ramoji Rao threatened him with a revolver in his hand and took signatures on the blank papers. “I was afraid of lodging any police complaint on the issue as Ramoji Rao was an influential man in the state,” Yuri Reddi said.

He further said that his father G J Reddi had given a typist job to Ramoji Rao in his firm Navabharat Enterprises in 1950. With the skill that Ramoji showed, G J Reddi, then gave Rs 5,000 to Ramoji Rao to start the Margadarsi Chit Fund Company, Yuri Reddi said.

His father was given 90 shares at the time of starting of the company which subsequently went up to 288 shares, he said. The same 288 shares were fraudulently transferred in the name of Shailaja Kiran, who is the managing director of the Margadarsi Chit Fund Company, he said.

He said he had come back to Andhra Pradesh, as the AP CID police have started investigating the cases and booked cases against Ramoji Rao. He expressed confidence that the CID would help him get back his shares. He wanted the Registrar of Chits to give him back his shares from the Margadarsi group.

“I have no intention of selling my shares to anyone. After I found that AP CID was investigating the alleged irregularities in the Margadarsi group, I have gathered courage and lodged a complaint with CID”, Yuri Reddi said.
