Payal Rajput’s impressive debut was with the movie RX100 alongside Karthikeya Gummakonda. Despite subsequent film flops, she collaborated with RX100 director Ajay Bhupathi for the suspense thriller Mangalavaaram in hopes of rejuvenating her career.
The movie performed decently in terms of box office revenue. Following Mangalavaaram, Payal took on the role of a stern police officer in the film Rakshana. It wasn’t until a few days post-release that the existence of such a film became known to many. Payal maintained distance from the project and refrained from promoting Rakshana, ultimately failing to receive her complete payment. The producers were displeased by this and subsequently lodged a complaint with the Producers Council in Hyderabad. Despite their efforts, Payal remained indifferent and declined to participate in the film. Eventually, Rakshana was released on June 7, 2024, alongside Navdeep’s Love Mouli and Kajal Aggarwal’s Satyabhama.
Shivannarayana, Maanas, Rajeev Kanakala, Vinod Bala, and Anand Chakrapani were pivotal in this movie. Payal’s acting was well-received; however, due to poor storytelling, Rakshana failed at the box office. With its upcoming release on OTT, the film’s potential to attract viewers on Aha remains to be seen, sparking curiosity among the audience.
