A recent video of a ‘dancing elephant’ from Kerala has gained much attention on the internet. However, it is important to note that the elephant in the video is actually a mascot dressed in an elephant costume, dancing to the popular Rajinikanth song, ‘Kaavaalaa.’ In the video, the mascot showcases a well-coordinated choreography and dances to the tunes of ‘Kaavaalaa’ in the middle of a road in Kerala, with an audience surrounding it. For those unfamiliar with the story, ‘Kaavaalaa’ is a song featuring Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia from the film Jailer that became extremely popular on the internet last year.
The video has received mixed reactions from internet users. While some were still determining if the elephant was real, others appreciated the unique performance. One user commented, “This is a fun video. We should allow animals to be free in the wild and find entertainment in other ways.” Another user recently watched a documentary about poaching on Prime Video and shared their hope for captive elephants in India to be released back into their natural habitat for a peaceful life.
“I didn’t realize it was a costume until I read the comments. This is great, and we should have more costumes like this for festivals and cultural events,” wrote a third user. Earlier this month, a similar video went viral, sparking controversy on social media. The video depicted an elephant surrounded by a crowd, dancing to lively dhol beats.
