Dhanush ‘s 50th Film, Raayan has completed an excellent first week at the Box Office. The movie was expected to be a big hit because of the surrounding anticipation. Raayan has lived up to the expectations and turned into a massive blockbuster at the Box Office. It became the third film in Dhanush’s career which has crossed the 100 Crores Gross Mark.
Raayan has collected 110 Crores Gross at the worldwide box office in its first week. The trade experts expect the Film to achieve 150 Crores Gross in its lifetime run.
The film tells the story of Kathavaraayan “Raayan” who holds on the role of caring for his younger brothers when their parents vanish, moving them to North Chennai. As time passes, Raayan runs a fast-food restaurant while his siblings face their challenges. A confrontation at a bar involving his brother Muthu leads to the killing of a gangster’s son, entangling Raayan and his family in an intricate web of deceit, treachery, and retaliation orchestrated by a new police commissioner. The family must maneuver through this dangerous situation to stay alive. The film showcases a large ensemble cast, with Dhanush in the lead character as Kathavaraayan “Raayan,” and Rakul playing the younger version of Raayan. Prakash Raj appears as Commissioner Sargunam, while S.J. Suryah portrays Sethuraman “Sethu.” Selvaraghavan takes on the character of Sekhar, Raayan’s father figure, and Sundeep Kishan plays Muthuvelraayan “Muthu,” Raayan’s younger brother. Dushara Vijayan is cast as Durga, Kalidas Jayaram as Manickavelraayan “Manickam,” Aparna Balamurali as Megala, Muthu’s wife, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a cameo as Sethu’s first spouse.
