Dhanush, a seasoned actor, will be seen in the lead role in the much-anticipated Tamil film Raayan. This film, set to release on July 26, holds a special place in Dhanush’s career as it marks his 50th film as an actor and his second directorial venture after the successful Pa Paandi in 2017. The excitement for Raayan is palpable, with reports suggesting that the makers have finalized the date for the pre-release/audio launch event.
According to reports, Raayan’s audio release is scheduled for July 6 in Chennai. An official statement regarding this matter is anticipated to be released shortly. The music for Raayan, composed by AR Rahman, is expected to attract several well-known industry figures and cast members to the event. Raayan is a crime thriller set in the northern outskirts of Chennai. The storyline concerns a family consisting of three brothers and a sister. Starring Dhanush in the lead role, the ensemble cast of Raayan also features Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Dushara Vijayan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, and more. The movie is scheduled to hit the screens on July 26th.
Raayan features music composed by AR Rahman and is supported by Sun Pictures. The film’s promotional activities have commenced, releasing two singles, Adangaatha Asuran and Water Packet. However, the teaser and trailer are yet to be unveiled by the makers. Despite initial reports crediting Selvaraghavan for Raayan’s script, the director clarified that it actually belongs to Dhanush. This project will also mark Selvaraghavan’s acting debut in a film directed by his brother Dhanush. In addition, Dhanush is collaborating with Sekhar Kammula on Kubera, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film. Furthermore, the actor is set to star in an upcoming biopic on Ilaiyaraaja, the legendary music composer. Dhanush will be teaming up with filmmaker Aanand L. Rai for Tere Ishq Mein in Hindi cinema.
