Dhanush’s film Raayan made its debut on the big screen last Friday, receiving a positive response. The movie, penned and helmed by Dhanush himself, showcased the actor in the lead role, supported by a talented ensemble cast. In its initial day of screening, the film raked in Rs 13 crore from all language versions.
Dhanush’s second directorial venture, Raayan, was released in theaters on Friday, July 26th, and received a generally positive response. According to the trade report, the gangster action drama earned around Rs 13 crore on its opening day in India, including collections from all languages. The film had an overall occupancy of 58%. Trade experts anticipate Raayan will continue the same momentum in the coming days.
The movie Raayan features a talented cast including Dushara Vijayan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, and more. It tells the story of three brothers and a sister residing in the northern outskirts of Chennai. When one of the brothers gets entangled in the local mafia don son’s murder, the family is dragged into a web of lies and brutality. The Sun Pictures banner supports Raayan and signifies Dhanush’s 50th movie as the leading actor. The music is composed by AR Rahman, whose contribution to the film has been well-received by the audience. Cinematographer Om Prakash captured the film, and Prasanna GK managed the edits. The film’s audio launch event recently took place. It is now available for streaming on the SunNXT app. Many reviewers have expressed, “When Dhanush humbly submits to the director, the film truly shines, and so does Raayan ”.
