Postponed Films Leave Moviegoers High and Dry

The recent postponement of notable flicks, Sasivadane starring Rakshit Atluri and Komalee Prasad, and Navadeep’s Love Mouli, has left the box office in a drought with no notable releases. This dearth of new content has resulted in zero interest from moviegoers to flock to the theaters, even on weekends, rendering the shows dull.

While many speculated that the postponements were due to previous setbacks and the lack of interest shown by netizens in braving the hot summer to visit theaters, reports indicate that the actual reason behind the delays lies in censor troubles. Both Sasivadane and Love Mouli failed to pass censor formalities, leading to their postponements from the scheduled April 19th, 2024 release date.

Sasivadane encountered hurdles as it couldn’t clear censor formalities in time, exacerbated by the head of the censor board being on vacation. Despite efforts, the team failed to navigate the administrative hurdles before the deadline. On the other hand, Love Mouli faced censor board issues due to its bold content, prompting the decision to reschedule its release to a later date. These setbacks highlight the challenges filmmakers face in navigating the intricacies of censorship while striving to deliver engaging content to audiences.
