Saina Play is an emerging local digital platform in Malayalam Cinema. The platform has started to bring many Malayalam films under its library, and Krishna Shankar’s Pattapakal is the latest film to arrive on Saina Play. The platform is becoming a hot favorite for the Malayalam movie lovers.
Pattaapakal is a dark comedy based on actual events. It started streaming on August 27. Saina Play is also bringing Higuita, a political thriller starring Dhyan Sreenivasan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vineeth Kumar, Manoj K Jayan, Indrans, and Binu Pappu. Prappeda (Hawk’s Muffin), which started streaming on August 2, has received positive reviews, while Vayassethrayayi Muppathi also started streaming on Saina Play on July 19.
Pattaapakal was appreciated by reviewers for its entertaining moments, though they found some cliches in the film’s screenplay. Many felt that the protagonist’s dialogues made the movie entertaining. Though the unusual comedy clicked for the film, Pattaapakal failed to be a success when it was released in theaters. It will be interesting to see how the OTT viewers will respond to the film. Saajir Sadaf’s Pattaapakal stars Sudhi Kopa, Ramesh Pisharody, Prashant Murali, and Gokulan in crucial roles. Shaan Rahman composed the film’s music.
