Bandi Saroj Kumar’s Parakramam is now out on OTT. The interesting thing is the director has also acted in the film, and he is the producer of it as well. Made as a social drama, the film was released in theaters on August 23, 2024. Bandi Saroj Kumar is known for films like Asthamanam (2012), Nirbandham (2020), Mangalyam (2022), and Parakramam (2024).
The director and his team did aggressive promotions for Parakramam. However, their efforts were unsuccessful, as the film failed miserably at the box office. The film had only a few shows on its release day and was removed from theaters the next day. Aha Video, the Telugu OTT platform, has bagged the digital rights to Parakramam, and it has been made available for streaming since Saturday night (September 14, 2024).
Bandi Saroj Kumar played the lead role in the film, while the famous classical dancer Sruthi Samanvi played the female lead role along with Naga Lakshmi. As said above, Parakramam had a limited theatrical release and went unnoticed by most audiences. So the makers hope that the film will find the required reach and exposure on OTT. Recently, there has been a trend of movies getting more praise on OTT than the theatrical release.
