The mystery period drama Dama was re-released in theaters on October 4, 2024. According to the fans of Mammootty, the promotions and the theatrical release of Paleri Manikyam 4K were mishandled. The re-release version did not have any trailers, and the makers just released a few posters. Also, Mammootty looked disinterested in the re-release of the film as he shared a poster from the film and did not get involved in any kind of promotion. Mythili, the actor who had done the titular role of Manikyam, was the only person from the film’s cast who was present at the theaters upon its re-release. Furthermore, the bookings and occupancy of Paleri Manikyam 4K were so dull, and it ended up as a disaster at the box office. The fans felt that there were so many other movies of their favorite hero that deserved a theatrical re-release than Paleri Manikyam.
Directed by Rajith, the film was based on TP Rajeevan’s famous novel of the same name, and it was loved by audiences and got critical acclaim for the excellent performances and making.
