The delay in their digital release remains unexplained, even as numerous other films are regularly released weekly on OTT platforms.
After a highly successful theatrical release, Blessy’s movie, Aadujeevitham, also known as The Goat Life, featuring Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to premiere on streaming platforms. The film, which premiered in cinemas at the end of March, is expected to be accessible in multiple languages on Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix. All specific information has yet to be provided by the producers. Earlier, there were hints that the OTT version of the film might be longer. Blessy had previously mentioned that the original runtime of the movie was three hours and thirty minutes and that the team had to cut at least half of that for the theatrical release. However, those scenes might be included in the OTT version.
Sony LIV, the digital streaming partner, officially announced that they will provide access to the movie Agent, featuring Akhil Akkineni, following several unsuccessful attempts to bring it to an OTT platform. Mammootty played a significant role in the spy thriller directed by Surender Reddy, which premiered in cinemas on April 28. Speculations about the film’s upcoming OTT release have been circulating since May. However, viewers needed clarification on its release date each time it was rescheduled.
The extended delay in the digital release of Rajinikanth’s Tamil film Lal Salaam piqued fans’ interest. Typically, Tamil films become available on streaming services four weeks after their initial theatrical release, following industry norms. The movie premiered in theaters on February 9 and received a negative response from audiences and critics. Then, it took longer than expected to appear on streaming platforms. Netflix and Sun NXT are reportedly preparing to stream this film.
