The Indian OTT viewers were in for a sweet surprise when Prime Video, the OTT giant, announced that it will release a bonus episode for the third season of Mirzapur, the much-loved web series. The bonus episode of Mirzapur 3 started to stream on 12 PM, August 31st. The episode caught everyone’s attention as it had their favorite character, Munna Bhaiya. However, after watching the episode, everyone left disappointed.
The viewers felt that the makers and the streaming platform team were just trying to cash in on the hype of the Mirzapur series and delivered a dud video in the form of a bonus episode. The series followers and lovers had great expectations from the episode; some thought there would be a scene featuring Munna Bhaiya from the flashback or it would show some unseen conversations between Akhandanand Tripathi, aka Kaleena Bhayya, and Beena Tripathi. Much to the disappointment of viewers, nothing of that sort was present in the bonus episode of Mirzapur 3. The episode has just a few normal deleted scenes from the series.
Mirzapur Season 1 was released in 2018, and the second season was out in 2020. Both seasons were loved by audiences, while the third season, which arrived in July 2024, received a mixed response. Mirzapur 3 had Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit (who lost his brother and wife to Munna Bhaiya by season 2), Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi as Golu, Lilliput as Dadda Tyagi, Vijay Varma as Shatru Tyagi, Isha Talwar as Madhuri Yadav, Anjum Sharma as Sharad Shukla, and Meghna Malik as Shakuntala Shukla.
