Finally, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh had a brief meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday evening. BJP AP unit president Daggubati Purandheswari and Telangana unit president and union minister G Kishan Reddy were present when Lokesh met Amit Shah.
Daggubati Purandheswari, an aunt of Lokesh, had lobbied strongly for the meeting between Shah and Lokesh. In fact, Purandheswari did even more to help the TDP leadership in the crisis and thus she did more for the TDP than the BJP.
Lokesh might have explained what had happened in the Skill Development scam and how his father and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested and sent to the jail. He might have also explained how the APCID is targeting him and harassing him in the name of questioning on different cases.
Lokesh had the time to explain in detail to Amit Shah, which Shah himself is already aware of and had the basic knowledge of the things. Perhaps, Amit Shah must have been briefed much earlier by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy or one of his representatives, before Naidu was arrested and sent to jail.
It is far from truth that Shah was not aware of Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. He must have had the advance information even before Naidu was arrested. So, the question is what Shah would do now in the case!
Lokesh must have had great relief after meeting with Amit Shah, which he could not get done in his previous visit to the national capital. He tried to meet Shah through his party MPs, former union minister Y S Chowdary, YSRCP rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju and others.
He could not meet even a single BJP leader on that visit despite his repeated attempts and efforts. But now, even after the successful meeting, what is expected to happen? Will Shah intervene and derail the enter process? Will Shah bulldoze the entire investigation and judicial process and get Chandrababu Naidu out of jail, are the big questions to be answered by the union home minister!
