The forthcoming Malayalam web series Nagendran’s Honeymoons producers have revealed a significant announcement regarding its online premiere. The comedic drama is set to be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting from July 19th. Suraj Venjaramoodu has been cast in the leading role for this venture under the direction of Nithin Renji Panicker, who is known for his work in Kasaba. Alongside Suraj, Nagendran’s Honeymoon will also star Grace Antony, Kani Kusruthi, Shwetha Menon, Alphy Panjikaran, and Niranjana Anoop in crucial roles.
The web series trailer showcases Nagendran, a young unemployed man, marrying five different women under various aliases. The reason behind his actions remains ambiguous. The series focuses on the comedic consequences of these marriages. Following its online debut, viewers can tune in to see if Nagendran will ultimately choose one of the women to be his life partner. According to the tagline and initial poster of the show, it is probable that the web series will focus on Suraj’s depiction of Nagendran and his five wives. The tagline, “One life, five wives,” indicates a comedic take on marriages involving multiple partners. Originally titled Madhuvidhu, meaning honeymoon, the show was planned to be renamed Nagendran’s Honeymoons to appeal to a broader audience.
Disney+ Hotstar has recently been showcasing a wide range of original content, focusing on Malayalam productions. The streaming service first introduced the Malayalam web series Kerala Crime Files, led by Aju Varghese, and then presented the Nitya Menen-starrer Master Peace. The Perilloor Premier League, featuring Sunny Wayn and Nikhila Vimal, followed this. Upcoming on Disney+ Hotstar is the Malayalam series Pharma, directed by PR Arun and starring Nivin Pauly, Sruthi Ramachandran, Veena Nandakumar, Narain, and Rajat Kapoor.
