This success is a welcome one for the Bollywood industry as it will give filmmakers confidence that small films without elements like big canvas or VFX will be successful at the box office. Munjya, the latest addition to Maddock Films’ horror comedy universe, draws inspiration from Marathi folklore and revolves around the eponymous mythical creature. The film delves into the havoc Munjya wreaked in the life of Bittu, portrayed by Abhay Verma from The Family Man. Mona takes on the role of Pummy, a single working mother who is excessively protective of Bittu. Suhas Joshi, Ajay Purkar, and Bhagyashree Limaye are also featured in Munjya.
Sharvari, currently reveling in the triumph of her latest horror-comedy, expressed her reflections on the significance of the movie’s success to her. In a recent exchange with the media, the actress remarked, “I feel incredibly fortunate as my path in the industry has been quite rewarding. Coming from a non-filmy background, I dedicated seven to eight years to auditions. Back then, I faced numerous rejections and resorted to working as an assistant director to gain experience on set and enhance my skills.” On the other hand, the anticipation for Stree 2, the upcoming film in Maddock Films’ horror comedy universe, is palpable.
