Miss Perfect Web Series Review: Decent Comedy Drama

Story:

Lavanya (Lavanya Tripathi) Rao is an individual who has a strong inclination towards cleanliness. She comes to Hyderabad for her job, but unfortunately, upon her arrival at her father’s residence, the COVID-19 lockdown is declared, leaving her confined to her apartment. Also, Lavanya’s maid, Jyothi (Abhignya Vuthaluru), does not come to work and requests her to inform Rohit (Abijeet Duddala), Lavanya’s neighbor, about this change. Unexpectedly, Lavanya assumes the role of a maid named Lakshmi and visits Rohit’s flat. What effect does Lavanya’s act bring in her life along with Jyothi? Will Rohit get to know the truth? What is Lavanya’s Father hiding from her? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The Web Series Miss Perfect starts by introducing the main character, a person with severe OCD. When we think about the concept of it, the narrative delves into a confusing comedy mixed with a love story. The entire romance track between Lakshmi and Rohit is shown in the middle episodes, along with the story of Jyothi and her brother Karthik. The Love track of Harshavardhan-Jhansi is also significant in one episode. The last two episodes get dramatic, leaving the humorous tone present until then.

Positives:

The director, Vishwak Khanderao, did an excellent job selecting the perfect star cast for the series. Lavanya Tripathi and Abhignya Vuthaluru gave a superb performance. Especially Abhignya excelled as Jyothi and became the center of attraction. Vishwak nicely adapted the backdrop of the urban setup, and the apartment culture was well depicted. Lakshmi and Rohit’s love track was neatly handled, as their interactions and conversations were funny and had a feel-good factor. The series had a nice feel except for a few parts, making it a comfortable watch.

Negatives:

The initial portions looked dull as Lavanya’s interaction with the psychiatrist looked dumb and silly. The final two episodes look over-stretched as the director tries to bring out the emotions, but it seems too predictable and dramatic. Also, the comedy portions could have been better apart from Jyothi and her brother’s scenes.

Miss Perfect Review and Verdict:

Lavanya Tripathi’s Miss Perfect is a decent entertainer. Good performances from the lead cast and entertainment for most parts work well for the series, while a few dragged parts and the last two episodes act as minus points. It can be easily binge-watched once.

NOTE: * It’s a personal opinion. It will not be based on it’s film run or the talk on the other side.
