Meiyazhagan, the latest Tamil drama, was released in theaters yesterday, September 27th. The film had received an exceptional response from the paid premieres before the release day, and even regular audiences also liked the film. Meanwhile, the film has locked its OTT partner, and it is none other than the popular OTT platform, Netflix. It is fixed that Meiyzhagan will be made accessible for streaming online post its theatrical release on Netflix.
Karthi and Arvind Swamy shared the screenspace for the first time with the film. Though the film’s OTT partner has been locked, the official OTT release date of the film is yet to be announced. Usually, Tamil big films have a four-week gap between theatrical and digital releases, while the small or medium-budget films follow a six- or eight-week gap. Meiyazhagan is written and directed by Prem Kumar, who won accolades for his previous flick, 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead roles. Suriya and his wife Jyothika produced the film under 2D Entertainments. The film tells the story of two cousins and what incidents they face over a night. The film will be released in Telugu as Sathyam Sundaram. Apart from Karthi and Arvind Swamy, Meiyazhagan also stars Sri Divya, Rajkiran, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Saran, and others in supporting roles.
