Mayavanam, a Malayalam film, is now streaming on OTT. The film was released in theaters worldwide in January 2024 and could not impress audiences. After an eight-month gap, the film has made its digital debut on the popular platform, Prime Video. Directed by Jagathlal Chandrasekharan, Mayavanam has Jaffer Idukki in a crucial role.
The streaming giant Prime Video has concentrated on getting the digital rights of some underrated or unnoticed films of Malayalam cinema. So in this process, the platform bagged the digital rights of Mayavanam, which was not a success during the theatrical run, but it was appreciated for its interesting plot and good performances. As of now, the film is available for rent, but it is expected to be available for all the subscribers soon.
Mayavanam tells the story of four friends from a medical school who go on a hiking trip with excitement. They face unexpected events during the trip, and they get entangled in a situation where they have to fight for their survival. Jaffer Idukki, Adithya Sai, Amina Nijam, Alencier Ley Lopez, Sreekanth Murali, and Senthil Krishna in the lead roles. Saisoorya Films banner has produced the film, while Jomon Thomas handled the camera and Samjith Mohammed took care of the editing.
