Story:

Manohar (Abhinav Gomatam) is an artist who faces a big shock when his would be bride elopes on the day of his marriage. The bride runs away with another person, and Manohar’s relatives look down upon him due to his lack of education and stability in life. Following this incident, Manohar decides to start an offset printing shop and tries to become proficient in Photoshop to achieve his goal. Manohar joins a coaching institute where Uma (Vaishali Raj) works as an instructor. Manohar does not have much good rapport with Rahul (Ali Reza) who is his childhood friend. The rest of the story is how Manohar becomes successful in his career and life as well.

Performances:

Abhinav Gomatam was superb as Manu and he effortlessly portrays the lead role, which has less comedy and more emotional touch. Vaishali Raj was also impressive as the female lead. Ali Reza, Moin, Aananda Chakrapani, Lavanya Reddy, and others were apt.

Analysis:

Director Thirupathi Rao does not waste much time and gets straight into the film’s plot. While the story is not much fresher, he concentrates on developing a believable journey for the main character. The fun and emotion parts are equally present in both the halves with the latter half of the film having a more than effect of drama.

Positives:

The clear-cut narration works for most of the parts in Masthu Shades Unnai Ra. The convincing performance of Abhinav Gomatham adds value to his character and makes the audiences root for him. Also, the director scores by not adding any unnecessary heroic elements in the proceedings, and he also was successful in bringing out the entertainment and emotional parts well.

Negatives:

A couple of characters could have been used in a better way. The uncle character of hero appears cliched and his behavior adds to the irritation. Some dull moments in the second half and a few predictable parts near the climax make the film a bit boring. Also, the unnecessary stress on” inferiority complex” looks forced.

Last Line: Masthu Shades Unnai Ra entertains for most of the parts
